Kermit “K.W.” Thomas, Jr.

Kermit “K.W.” Wilton Thomas, Jr., 66, of Jena, passed from this life on Thursday, May 30, at his residence in Jena. He was born September 26, 1946 in Columbia to the union of his parents, Kermit Wilton Thomas, Sr. and Dorothy Louise Richmond Thomas. K.W. was a retired oilfield pusher. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 2, in the Whitehall Pentecostal Church with Rev. Joey Paul officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Lynette Freeman Thomas of Jena; one daughter, Stephanie Gregory of Jena; one son, Raymond Keith Thomas of Jena; four sisters, Linda Lovelady and Evelyn Thomas, both of Columbia, Doris Masters of Jena, and Kathy James of Ball; one brother, Mike Thomas of Jena; five grandchildren, Courtney Celeste Russell, Lauren Elizabeth Gregory, Ryan Keith Thomas, Dylan Chase Thomas and Louis Lamar Gregory; and one great grandchild, Brycen Cole Russell. Pallbearers were Benny Ramsey, Richard Jacks, Ted Bradford, Gene Branch, Lum Myles, and Kenneth Posey.
