Dovie “Kay” McCarver, 67, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at St. Frances Medical Center Grace Home in Alexandria. She was born Sunday, August 10, 1947 in Harrisonburg to the union of her parents, Joseph “Jack” Dorcenus Douga and Marise Sylvest Douga. Kay was a member of Wallace Ridge Baptist Church. Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24 at Wallace Ridge Baptist Church with Tommy Gammill officiating. Interment followed in Heard Cemetery of Manifestunder direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Jonesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Wayne McCarver; and grandson, Brian Bailey McCarver. Survivors include one son, Brian Wayne McCarver and wife Jessica of Harrisonburg; two daughters, Karen McCarver Weeks of Vidalia, and Michele McCarver Lamb and husband Bill of Jena; and six grandchildren, Chad Foster, Whitney Weeks, Heather Weeks, Blair Smith, Dylan McCarver, and Davin McCarver. Pallbearers were Gordon McCarver, Wesley McCarver, Hagen Crawford, Phillip Ewing, Ronnie Mason, and Clay Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers were Melvin Purvis and Bryon Mc- Carver.
