
James “Jimmy” Edmond Johnson, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
He was born April 24, 1944 in Oakdale, to the union of his parents, Horace and Ruth Johnson.
Jimmy was a member of Paradise Baptist Church where he served as Choir Leader. He was a lifetime railroad man who retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 46 years. He loved his wife Patti and family very much and spent as much time with them as possible.
When not with his family, he was bragging about them. He and Patti loved traveling together, and they did many trips together on his motorcycle. He was a high school basketball player in Reeves, La and was a #1 fan of the LSUA basketball team. He and Patti attended all home and most away games.
A celebration of life was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville with Rev. Leslie Tam officiating.
Interment followed in the Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery in the Summerville Community near Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Pineville.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Patti McLendon Johnson; daughters, Angela Boyington (Chris), Andrea LaFleur (Doug) and Rana Randall; son, Jory Randall; sister, Claudette Huffman; grandchildren, Allyson Drum, Alex Reid and Katelyn Fontenot (Mike); great grandchildren, Rowen Mckinzie and Lydia Fontenot; sister-in-law, Kandy McLendon; brothers-in-law, Danny McClendon (Eloise) and Mike McLendon (Rose); and nephew Brad Huffman.
Pallbearers were Jimmy’s Union Pacific family, James Bradshaw, Jimmy Simmons, Ennis Wallace, Bubba Barns, Robert Boone, John Griffen, Lawrence Henagan, Al Parker and TJ Farris.
