Jody Renae Grant, 59, of the Summerville Community, was called home by her Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.
She was born Saturday, March 3, 1962 to the union of Jerrel Ray and Betty Jo (Thornton) Edwards.
Renae was a wonderful wife, loving mother and proud grandmother. She was a vital part of revamping the skating rink, Easter in the Park, planting the community garden, repotting the town flowers in the Spring, visiting the nursing home, Trunk or Treat, a volunteer at the Mission House and the Town of Jena Christmas Dinner for Senior Citizens.
Renae, also known by friends and family as Nae, Nae-Nae, Aunt Nae, and Maw Nae, had the ability to make everyone smile and feel loved.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 12, in the Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dave Carlton officiating.
Interment followed under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Terry Edwards.
Those left to love and miss her are her husband, William Todd Grant of Summerville Community; a son, Stephen Grant and wife Holly of Jena; a daughter, Brittany Powell and husband William of Alexandria; three brothers, Carl Edwards and wife Margie of Pineville, Eugene Edwards and wife LaDawn of Jena, and Lon Edwards and wife Mikey of Summerville; one sister, Lynn Edwards of Summerville; and three grandchildren, Ethan Grant, Charlotte Grant and Madi Jo Powell.
