
Ruby Mayo Boothe, 92, of Jena, passed from this life on Saturday, January 18, 2020.
She was born February 26, 1927 in Winnsboro to the union of her parents, John Thomas Mayo, Sr. and Tommie Bell McVay Mayo.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20, at Aimwell Pentecostal Church in Aimwell with the Revs. Jason Wilks and Kirk Mayo officiating.
Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery, east of Jena, under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Boothe; her parents; and brothers, J.T. Mayo, Everett “Shorty” Mayo, and Adrian “Blue” Mayo.
Those left to cherish in her memory include her son, James Berlon Wilks and wife Faye of Oscar, LA; daughter, Terry Owens and wife Tony of Larto; brothers, David Mayo of Monroe, Homer Mayo of West Monroe, Billy Mayo of Olla, and James Mayo of Monroe; sister, Katherine Jo Nobles of Jena; four grandchildren, Brandon Wilks, Reverend Jason Wilks, Samuel McDaniel, and Louis McDaniel; nine great grandchildren, Sydnie Wilks, Carolyne Wilks, Gracie Wilks, Connor Wilks, Carter Wilks, Alyssa McDaniel, Adrian McDaniel, Autumn McDaniel, and Arie McDaniel.
Pallbearers were Brandon Wilks, Jason Wilks, Samuel McDaniel, Louis McDaniel, John Nobles, and Ethan Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were Connor Wilks and Carter Wilks.
