Leo Bell

Leo Bell, 92, of Jena, entered his eternal home on Saturday, January 4, 2020.

He was born November 17, 1927 to the late Rev. Henry Bell and Beatrice Howard Bell, one of eight children.

Brother Bell was baptized at an early age at New Evergreen Baptist Church and attended school in La- Salle Parish.

He lived in Kansas City, Kansas and New Mexico before returning home. He was married to the late Annie Mae Jackson Bell and to this union two sons were born, Earl Bell and Greg Bell.

Leo was employed at Ford Auto and later did transportation for the LADD Center. He loved working on vehicles.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, at New Evergreen Baptist Church of Jena with Rev. Chauncey Hardy officiating.

Interment followed in the Webster Cemetery of Good Pine under arrangements by Gayden Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Bell and Alton Bell; three sisters, Alberta, Irene, and Eudora (Dozier).

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sylvia Jackson of Jena; three sons, Earl Bell (Dallas) of Alamogordo, NM, Greg Bell of Jena, and Leroy Bell of Sacramento, CA; one daughter, Rhonda Bell of Houston, TX; five grandchildren; one sister, Para Story (Harvey) of Compton, CA; one brother, Rev. Cleo Bell of Las Cruses, NM; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers were Kenneth Bloodsaw, Patrick Cooper, Bobby Cooper, Calvin Thomas, Jr., Ronnie Martin, and James Miles.

Honorary pallbearers were Oliver Dotson, Alton Bell, Juan Bell, Alonzo Stevenson, Wesley Murray, and Harvey Story.
