
Cleta Windham Foshee, 80, of Belah, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, after a battle with cancer. She was born August 7, 1937 in Belah to the union of her parents, Tom Ephraim and Sena Gray Windham. She resided in the Belah Community her entire life except for one year when she lived in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Foshee graduated from Jena High School in 1955 and went on to Northwestern State University, where she received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She retired from the LaSalle Parish School System after teaching first grade for 33½-years. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 30, in the Belah Cemetery in the Belah-Fellowship Community with Rev. Kendall Price officiating. Interment followed under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Foshee; parents; brother, Andrew Windham; and sister, Camille Holloway. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sharla Foshee King and husband Russell of Belah; and three grandchildren, Makayla King, Mason King and Matthew King; a niece, Cammie Farrar; and nephew, Lane Windham. Pallbearers were Herman Slaughter, Jeff Farrar, Leon Keel, Mason King, Matthew King and Lane Windham.
