Yvonne “Jo” Wilson Sanders, 89, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in Alexandria. She was born April 27, 1928 in Winn Parish. Jo was a member of Kingsville Baptist Church. During her working life she was a secretary for higher education. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was deeply devoted to her family. Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 22, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville with Rev. Bart Walker officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery near Tullos, under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Pineville. She was preceded in death by her husband, David B. Sanders, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael R. Sanders; daughter, Sandra Sanders Vermillion; grandchildren, Rebecca Mitchell, Allison Thompson, Andrea Vermillion-Guy, Westley Vermillion, Amanda LaCaze, Jovonna Vermillion and Laura Knowlton; 10 great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
