Jesse Frank Sheppard, 74, of Enterprise, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Friday, December 8, 2017.
He was born Dec. 27, 1942 to the union of his parents, York E. and Lurline Sledge Sheppard.
Frank lived his whole life in Enterprise. He retired from Freeport-McMoran with 26 years of service. He loved sports of all kinds. His kids and grandkids were his life. Whatever they were doing, he was there. He loved his church and was a faithful member of New Ouachita Baptist Church where he was ordained as deacon in November of 2003. He sang in the choir until his health no longer allowed.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, at New Ouachita Baptist Church in Enterprise with officiants Rev. James King and Rev. Lindle Steward, and speaker, John Sheppard.
Interment followed in the Old Catahoula Church Cemetery at Enterprise under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Sheppard.
Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Telano Sheppard of Enterprise; son, Robert Earl Sheppard of Columbia; daughter, Melissa Sheppard of Enterprise; grandchildren, Chad Sheppard and wife Sam, Taylor Sheppard, Jesse Vinson and wife Catie, Blake Vinson and Gracie Vinson; great-grandchildren, Luke Sheppard and Henley Vinson; sister, Lou Kirkland and husband Lloyd; brothers, York Sheppard and wife Teresa and John Sheppard and wife Mary; sisters-in-law, Lou Tharp and Georgia Mae Evans; and brother-in-law, Roy Telano and wife Robin.
Pallbearers were Johnny Mayo, Richard Mayo, R. E. McGuffee, Glen McCormick, LaDelle Pate and Kent Nugent.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of New Ouachita Baptist Church.
