
Lottie Louise Sumrall Jordan, 82, of Olla, passed away from renal cancer on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She left this life very peacefully in her sleep.
She was born in Sicily Island, on November 13, 1934 to Silvanus Sumrall and Minnie Nugent Sumrall.
Mrs. Jordan spent her childhood in Harrisonburg and Tullos, and lived in Shreveport, for 48 years. She was a homemaker and worked at Western Electric and was happily married for 50 years to Ira Jordan. She was a very active member of Morningside and Westside Baptist Churches while living in Shreveport. Lottie had a very sweet spirit and was a devout Christian and the church pianist at several churches and over the last few years at New Union Church.
She was a very doting Mom and Mamaw with a funny sense of humor even in her last days on earth. She was a wonderful caretaker always cooking for her family and friends and always putting others before herself. She was creative and enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music and festivals, sewing, and created most of the art work in her 1953 LaSalle High School senior yearbook, where she was voted most musical.
She was the devoted mother of Iris Jordan Tyler and Joseph Jordan, Jr. and Evelyn Jordan Brummett and the wonderful Mamaw of ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Lottie was the caring sister to Irene Allbritton, Lillie Deville, Evelyn Lincecum, Clarmon Sumrall and James Sumrall.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27, at Riser Funeral Home Chapel in Olla with Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating.
Interment followed in the New Union Cemetery, north of Tullos, under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Jordan; daughter, Evelyn; her parents; her five siblings, and a great grandson Michael.
She is survived by son, Joseph Jordan Jr., and wife Colleen; grandchildren, Olivia, Noah and Natalie of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Iris Jordan-Tyler and husband Dr. Rick Tyler of Hot Springs Village, AR and grandchildren Amy Stephens of Frisco, TX and Jordan Crowell (Briana) of Olathe, KS. She is also survived by grandchildren James (Joanne), Jeff (Diane), Chris (Heather), Charles (Devin), Keeley and 16 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also surviving Lottie are her treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws, a host of local friends, and beloved longtime friends and neighbors from Shreveport.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and honorary pallbearers were Larry Lee and Billy Talley.
