James Robert Elliott, 74, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1943 in Wisner to the union of his parents, Columbus Evans and Mary Lucille Dodd Elliott.
James was a truck driver.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 27, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Brother Cecil Ray Carroll officiating.
Interment followed in the Heard Cemetery at Manifest under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Goins Elliott; his parents; and a brother, Thomas Elliott.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Linda Hamilton, Sara Holley, and Peggy Carroll, all of Jena; and two brothers, Roy Elliott of Jena and Eddie Elliott of LaVergne, TN.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Holley, Levi Ratcliff, Junior Carroll, Cody Shackelford, Larry Holley and Lonnie Holley.
Honorary pallbearer was Freddie Warrick.
