
Marilyn Ann Cotten Leonard, 62, of Dry Prong, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at her residence in Dry Prong.
She was born on November 5, 1954, in Houston, TX and worked for several different companies as a House Mother/Sitter for area group homes. She loved to shop for her family.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena with Pastor Mark Breland officiating.
Interment followed in the Taylor Chapel Cemetery in Summerville under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Nell Loften Cotten; husband, Walter Leonard, III, and great granddaughter, Serenity Hebert.
Survivors include her sons, Christopher Chad and wife Leanna Desoto of Pineville, Justin Leonard of Dry Prong, Joshua and wife Lorie Leonard of Dry Prong, Jason Paul and wife Misty Arnold of Pineville; daughter, Kelsey and husband Tyler Hebert of Ottawa, IL; brothers, Larry Cotten of Tioga, Joseph Cotten of Georgetown; sister, Nelda Cortez of Houston, TX; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jason Arnold, Roger Bennett, Larry Cotten, Jr., Robert Whitehead, Blake Simon, and Sammy McNeely.
A special place of honor and thanks was given to nurse Claire and nurse Sharon, Rhonda Cotten, and Jason and Misty Arnold.
