Melba Jean Allbritton Morrow, 85, of Houston, Texas, and a native of LaSalle Parish, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.
She was born February 20, 1931 in Tullos, to the union of her parents, Dewey and Thelma Allbritton.
Fiesty and spirited, she paved the way for the four brothers that followed. She loved her brothers, any sport with a ball, sewing, puzzles, and could keep a house plant alive for decades – a trait she did not pass along to her daughter.
Mrs. Morrow was a faithful subscriber and reader of her hometown newspaper, The Jena Times.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 28, at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home in Houston, TX, with Rev. Jeff Campbell officiating.
Interment followed in the Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. L. “Bo” Morrow, the love of her life; and her brothers, Kenneth Allbritton, Pete Allbritton, and Elvin Allbritton.
Survivors include a brother, Bob Allbritton and wife Carolyn of Olla; son, Larry Glen Morrow and wife Delores; her daughter, Carol Morrow Keogh and husband Michael, Jr.; four grandchildren, Shawn Michael Keogh, Ryan Lavan Keogh, Allison Michelle Keogh, and Marc Anthony Ray Yanez; four great grandchildren, Bo Kolton, Paisley Grace, Shelby Jo, and Kase Cullen Keogh; along with many nieces and nephews, that she loved dearly.
Pallbearers were Walter Allbritton, Dale McCartney, Wilson Curry, Steve Allbritton, Danny Allbritton, and Trevor Thorn.
Honorary pallbearer was Marc Anthony Yanez.
Alzheimer’s took Mrs. Morrow from her family long before her death. In her memory, the family ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association National office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
