Lonnie James Brown, 74, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was born January 12, 1942. Lonnie James liked restoring antique trucks, mechanizing, horses and farm animals. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church near Jonesville, with Rev. Joel Ford and Bro. Claude Chaney officiating. Interment followed at Heard Cemetery of Manifest under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his father, James Monroe Brown; mother, Mellia Virginia Brown; sister, Joyce Goins and husband George; one granddaughter, Destiny D. Brown; and brother-in-law, Bobby R. Ewing. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Brown of Jonesville; two sons, Wade M. Brown and wife Tonya, and James L. Brown; one daughter, Amanda Brown, all of Jonesville; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Brown and wife Rosalea and Parvin Brown and wife Sharron; two sisters, Flonnie Ewing and Dollie White and husband Robert; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Elton Tolbert, Jerome Tolbert, Tim Tolbert, Bill Crawford, Derek Brown and Bron Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Ethan Tolbert, Mark Brown and Brian Weeks.
