Gloria Johnson Krause, 62, of Sicily Island, and a native of Jena, passed from this life on Thursday, November 19, 2015, in Alexandria. She was born April 9, 1953 in Jena to the union of her parents, Barney and Maxine Johnson. Gloria was a member of Sunny Side Church and owner of the Snack Shack in Sicily Island. She enjoyed watching and supporting the local sporting teams, especially when they included her children and grandchildren. She always had a great sense of humor and was a selfless, loving person that always did for others. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22, at Sunny Side Church with Rev. Jerry Sharp officiating. Interment followed in Highland Park Cemetery of Sicily Island, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Ferriday. Survivors include her husband Walter “Pot” Krause of Sicily Island; daughter, Dana Mayo and husband, Robbie of Harrisonburg; son, Mark Krause and wife Jessica, of Sicily Island; grandchildren, Dylan Mayo, Kacie Mayo, Taylor Krause and Karlie Krause; brother, Barney Johnson, Jr. and wife Dee, of Jena; sister, Nelda King and husband Jeff, of Walters. Pallbearers were Joey Evans, Jerel Evans, Jason Evans, Jody Bondurant, Ron Bruit and Dr. Al Krause.
