Boone Ketchens, 62, of Jena, passed from this life on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. He was born November 3, 1953 in Jena to the union of his parents, Cyrus Boone Ketchens, Sr. and Edna Nugent Ketchens. Boone was a Baptist by faith. He lived in Arkansas for 12 years where he was a Mason and a member of Mason Lodge #418 in Salem, AR. He also worked as a motorman in the oil field and has lived in Jena for the past six years and worked as a commercial fisherman. Services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Horace Ketchens officiating. Interment will follow in the Tidwell Cemetery in Nebo, under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Tina Ketchens of Jena; sons, Charles “Little Boone” Ketchens and wife Jody of Jena, Marion Blake Ketchens of Sturkie, AR and step-son, Matt Madsen and wife Jana of Kelly; daughter, Jonna Souppa of Houma; sister, Mickie Barron and husband Joe of Jena; and two grandchildren, Kaylie and Allyssa Madsen. Pallbearers will be J. T. Trahan, Wacker Pritchard, Levelle Pritchard, Peyton Pritchard, Chuck Chevallier, and Ben Whatley. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Scott and Vernon Kuhn.
