
Cecil Preston Duncan, 75, of Jena, passed from this life on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at his residence in the Midway Community. He was born February 22, 1940 in Pineville to the union of Charlie and Minnie Coody Duncan. Cecil was a meat processor, helped with Sunday School at his church, Midway Baptist Church, and loved to play the keyboard with family and friends. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Midway Baptist Church with the Revs. Brad Bunting and Gary Norris officiating.Interment followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery of Pineville under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Polly Duncan of Jena; four sons, Dwayne Duncan of Jena, Michael Duncan, Mark Duncan and Randy Duncan, all of Baton Rouge; daughter, Gay Nell Whatley of Trout; grandchildren, Vinson Whatley, Melissa Harris and Ian Duncan; and great grandsons, William Harris and Jacob Harris. Pallbearers were Kevin Bacle, Kris Bacle, John Campbell, Christian Harris, Paul Smith, and Vinson Whatley. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Bacle, Walter Craig, Trax Norris, Cleveland Poole, David Paul Smith, Miles Smith, Brandon Vickers, Roger Whatley, W. G. Wilson, and Dwayne Duncan.
