Lucy A. Parker Hughes, 82, of Harrisonburg, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 22, 2015, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. Mrs. Hughes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking, working in her garden, and caring for her family. She was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church of Manifest, where she loved attending, loved her pastor, and above all else, loved her
God. Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, at New Life Pentecostal Church of Manifest with the Revs. David Poole and Todd Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Heard Cemetery of Manifest under direction of Gallagher Funeral Home of Ball. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Hughes; parents, Felton and Maelee Parker; one daughter, Martha Hughes; brothers, Kenneth Parker, Lloyd Parker,
J. C. Parker, and Donald Parker; and son-in-law, Lavelle Langley. Survivors include five daughters, Barbara Langley of Harrisonburg, Norma Boothe and husband Michael of Humble, TX, Georgia Nichols and husband Dennis of Jonesville, Brenda Torrey and husband Donny of Enterprise, and Sheryl Black and husband Darrell of Jena; three sisters, Carol Robertson and husband Hardy of Jonesville, Mary Ernestine Mason of Harrisonburg, and Joyce Patton and husband Wayne of Franklinton; 11 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
