Jack Reily, 83, of Olla, passed from this life on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at his residence in Olla. He was born April 2, 1932 in Collingston to the union of his parents, O. W. “Wig” Reily and Dorothy Higginbotham Reily. Jack married his wife and lifelong partner, Jeanette Bell Reily, on May 12, 1956. He was an avid fisherman and LSU fan, and a former trainer and lover of Tennessee Walking Horses. He graduated from Bastrop High School in 1951 and attended Sunflower Junior College in Morehead, Mississippi, on a track scholarship. He then attended and graduated from Arkansas A&M with a degree in Kinesiology. Jack served his country as a U.S. Marine Corps sniper during the Korean War and was assigned to the 1st Truck Division from 1951-54. He was an independent landman, member of Olla United Methodist Church for 48 years, and a member of American Legion Post No. 50. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 13, at First United Methodist Church in Olla with Rev. Aaron Carpenter officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Francis Holloway; and a brother, O. W. Reily, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jeanette Bell Reily; three daughters, Jacqueline Denise Workman of Olla, Cathy Renee Hayes and husband Jeff of Niceville, FL, and Cindy Reily Fullilove and husband Skip of Jennings; grandchildren, Brandon L. Reily of Los Angeles, CA, Stephen Workman and wife Christal of Alexandria, Sandy Britt and husband Chad of Port Barre, and Carley M. Hayes of Niceville, FL; and great grandchildren, Ava Britt, Cason Britt, and Gauge Britt, all of Port Barre, and Stihl Workman, Reagan Workman, and Wren Workmen, all of Alexandria.
