
Charles Edward “Paw” McCarthy, 87, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Friday, July 11, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 6, 1926 in Jonesville to the union of his parents, Jack and Mary Jane McCarthy. Charlie was a retired heavy equipment operator and a veteran of World War II. He was also a Golden Glove boxer, winning 20 of 21 fights of which he was so proud. He was known to everyone as “Paw”, and will be sorely missed by all. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 13, at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Joel Ford and Craig James officiating. Interment followed at the End of the Trail Cemetery of Sandy Lake under direction of Magnolia Funeral Home of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael McCarthy; his parents, and five brothers. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Flora McCarthy; three children, Delores McEntyre, Chalotte Mc- Millin, and Mark McCarthy, all of Jonesville; two brothers, Jeddie McCarthy of Jonesville, and Ronald McCarthy of El Paso, TX; nine grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Mc- Carthy, Cody Johnson, Chris Shivers, Chad McCarthy, Colby Mount, and Merthyr Mount, with Bill Masters serving as an honorary pallbearer.
