Sylvia Mae Pendarvis White, 88, a lifelong resident of Tullos, passed from this life on Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was born June 28, 1925 in Urania to the union
of her parents, Ida Ethel Weems Pendarvis and Robert Henry “Bob” Pendarvis. Mrs. White was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, located on U.S. 84 west of Tullos, and was retired from the United States Postal Service, having served at the Post Office in Tullos. Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Duane Moreno officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery, located just west of Tullos. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Hollis Mixon White and Terry Pevey; one daughter, Linda Earlene White; and three sons, Michael Mixon White, Barry Steven White, and James Louis “Joe” White.
Survivors include three daughters, Sylvia Sue White of Jena, Hollis Carol White Baum of Olla, and Marilyn Dianne White of Baton Rouge; and numerous grandchildren
