
Barbara Gale Guin, 74, of Nantachie Lake, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 1, 2021, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
She was born February 10, 1947 in Urania to the union of her parents, Oreatice and Minos Rees.
Barbara grew up in Urania, lived in Texas for forty-one years, and moved to Nantachie Lake seven years ago. She retired from the Texas Department of Corrections and was an accomplished seamstress, which was her passion.
She was a member of Liberty Christian Church at Nantachie and a very faithful Christian, who was loved by everyone. She enjoyed fishing and working outdoors with her husband and loved spending time with him, children and grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 6, in the chapel of Rush Funeral Home in Pineville with Rev. Billy Edwards officiating.
Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery in Urania under direction of Rush Funeral Home of Pineville.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Edwina Harrison.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of forty-seven years, John Guin of Nantachie Lake; two daughters, Rebecca Banes and Les King, of Grayson and Barbette Woodruff and Michael Crafts of Urania; three sisters, Susie Davis and husband Don of Natchez, MS; Donna Cole and Denise Pylar, both of Pineville; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joshua Finley, Bryan Stokes, Johnny Antee, Michael Crafts, Les King, Nathan Guin, Joe Ganey and Paul Partney.
