Dorothy Lee Breithaupt, 89, of Jena, passed from this life on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was surrounded by her family at the time she was called home.
She was born December 30, 1931 in Jena to the union of her parents, Allen Duncan Poole and Vallie Elizabeth Masters Poole.
Dorothy was a homemaker and loved her family. She spent her life working in the church, the Council on Aging, where she worked numerous years, and home. She will be remembered as a Christian woman with values and a fine Icebox Fruitcake recipe, which she graciously made with the same love she did with everything.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, at First Baptist Church in Jena with Rev. Terry Townsend officiating.
Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery, east of Jena, under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jeff Breithaupt.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Carolyn Cannon (Colon), of Monroe, and Alisa Reed (Mark) of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Cindy Leath, Hope Fontenot, Chad Cannon, Lindsey Trainor, and Leslie Reed; and she was also blessed with nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jason Trainor, Chad Cannon, Seth Fontenot, Brandon Fontenot, Shane “Smiley” Fontenot, and Cannon Leath.
