Lowell Malloy McLendon, 68, of Jena, passed from this life on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was born April 22, 1945 in Alexandria to the union of his parents, Moses L.
and Juanita McLendon. Lowell was a number one diehard LSU and Saints fan. He loved to hunt, fish and work on things, and could lose his tools better than anyone. He retired as an employee for the Town of Jena and was
a former employee of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. He was a member of Grayson Baptist Church. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the
Revs. Rickey Gresham and Jimmy Keene officiating. Interment followed in the Randall Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tonda Ann Mc- Lendon; and father, Moses L. McLendon. Survivors include two sons, Rodney McLendon and wife Rena, and Michael Mc- Lendon, all of Jena; mother, Juanita McLendon of Jena; brother, Ronnie McLendon of Jena; sister, Glennie Dale Bordelon of Pineville; and six grandchildren, Christian, Brianna, Kaylee, Calob, Constance, and Titus. Pallbearers were Gary Don Mosley, Tony Ganey, Jack Zeagler, Steve Andrews, Joe Phillips, and Marty McClure. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Crooks, Nathan Hester, Johnny Hester, Gene Amos, Scott Franklin, H. O. Berry, Jerry Berry, and Charles Snyder
