Nola Jane Bass Squyres

Nola Jane Bass Squyres, 78, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at her residence in the Sandy Lake Community of Catahoula Parish. She was born June 9, 1935 in Harrisonburg to the

union of her parents, George Malloy and Pearl Masters Bass. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17, at New Hope Apostolic Church with  the Revs. Chris Hamilton andCecil Grantham officiating.  Interment followed in the Heard Cemetery of Manifest under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Squyres; her parents; a son, Lester Wayne Squyres; and a sister, Melba Laverne Bass. Survivors include her daughter, Julia Kaye Squyres Welch and husband Randall of Jena; two sons, David Ray Squyres and wife Catherine  and Robert Earl Squyres, all of Jonesville; two brothers, Frank Lavon Bass and Billy Joe Bass, both of Jonesville; eight grandchildren, David  Ray Squyres, Jr. and wife Michelle, Landon Wayne Squyres and wife Darla, Anthony Mark Squyres and wife Jessica, Meshell Squyres Driver and husband Eric, Janice Aymond and husband Caleb, Jennifer Squyres and Aaron Michiels, Michael Squyres and wife Rhonda, and Rachel Ballard and husband Brian; 20 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Ray Squyres, Jr., Landon Wayne Squyres, Anthony Mark Squyres, Michael Wayne Squyres, William Roberts and Brian Ballard
