
Jerry Louis Meadows, Sr., 79, of Jena, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
He was born December 25, 1940 in Phillips, Texas, to the union of his parents, Louis Wilson “Dick” Meadows and Clella Mae “Sis” Landers Meadows.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Christ Temple Pentecostal Church in Jena with the Revs. Zack Wells and Dan McClure officiating.
Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery in the Belah Community under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eddie Bob Meadows, Sr.; sister, Dickie Ann Meadows Massie; and brother-in-law, Brenard Eugene Massie.
Those left to cherish in his memory include his wife, Leonia Welch Meadows; sons, Michael Crafts (Barbie), and Jerry “Jay” Meadows, Jr. (Marc); daughters, Melissa Chapman (Will) and friend, Sheila, Connie Puckett (Claude); 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family.
Pallbearers were Jason Ashley, Kyle Robertson, Austin McClure, Kenny White, Jr., Johnny Keene, and Casey Puckett.
Honorary pallbearers were Roger Huffman, Kevin Price, and Steve McClure.
