John Lester Kendrick, 73, of the Belah Community, claimed his eternal reward, after a long and courageous battle, on Friday August 14, 2020.

He was born November 11, 1946 to the union of John Howard Kendrick and Myrtle Marie Bradford, both of Jena.

Services to honor his life were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Fellowship Baptist Church in the Belah Community, concluding with an interment at the Belah Cemetery.

Dr. Patrick Willis officiated, with the eulogy and testimony brought by Mickey Cockerham and Darrel Taylor. Music was handled by Scott Windham and Lenise McDonough.

Arrangements were handled by Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors included his loving wife, Cynthia Joy Smith Kendrick; his daughter, Darla Deann Poole of Trout; three sons, David Dee Taylor, III, and Daryl Dean Taylor, both of Monroe, and Jonathan Lane Kendrick of Trout; two sisters, Linda Ann Carter (Jack) of Spring, TX., and Mary Nell Hawley (Maurice) of Shreveport; two brothers, Ronald Glen Kendrick (Belinda) of Baton Rouge, and Donald Lynn Kendrick (Lori) of Pineville; 11 grandchildren and five and a half great grandchildren.
