Joe A. Ganey, 72, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, in his home with his wife at his side. He was born February 13, 1947 in Alexandria to the union of Leland and Jo Wade Ganey. Joe served in the National Guard during peace time. He worked in the oilfield throughout his life and had a great love of the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary “Beth” (Buxton) Ganey; two brothers, Gerald Ganey (Donna) of Baton Rouge, and Leland Ganey (Vicki) of Sarasota, FL. The family of Joe Ganey will see to his final wishes privately as per his request. Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena was trusted with arrangements.
