James “Wilson” Curry, 63, of Curry, Louisiana, passed from this life on Monday, May 14, 2018. He was born August 26, 1954 in Winnfield to the union of Phillip and Lois Curry. Wilson lovingly served his Lord and Savior as a Deacon at Georgetown Baptist Church. He was a Master Mason and worked in the Petroleum Industry his entire life. He was an avid duck hunter and loved those early morning hunts. His true passion was to spend time with his family and his best friend and wife, Karen, of 45 years. Lovingly known as “Bop” by those dear to his heart, he was a gentle giant with a heart as big as he was. He never met a stranger and loved to reminisce whenever he had the chance. A celebration of his life was held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 18, at Georgetown Baptist Church with the Revs. Carl Griffith and Todd Whittington officiating. Masonic graveside services followed at 1 p.m. at the Crossroads Cemetery, west of Tullos, under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his adopted parents, Norman and Mardell Allbritton. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen Curry of Curry; son, Trey Lynn Curry and wife Jais of Houston, TX; daughter, Randi Harris and husband Brent of Curry; grandchildren, Trenton Harris, Marli Rae Harris, Joci Harris and Kassidi Harris; brother, Rankain Curry of Calvin; brothers and sisters, Walter and Cheryl Allbritton of Olla, and Linda and Dale McCartney of Tullos; along with a host of loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Rankain Curry, James Johnson, Jim Colvin, Claude Smart, Dolan Pendarvis, Grayson Walpole, Darrel Wilson and Zac Cox.
