Mary Mclawchlin Parsley, 101, of Hamshire, Texas, and a native of Jena, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 5, 2018. She was born in Jena on February 3, 1917 to the union of her parents, Lillie Ollie Joy and Robert Mclawchlin. Later her and her family moved to Galveston, Texas, where she worked as an elevator girl at the Galvaz Hotel and Globe in Galveston for the many years it was open. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas, with Chaplain Michael Procella officiating. Interment followed under direction of J. Levy and Termini Funeral Home of Galveston, TX. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Ollie Joy, Robert Mclawchlin and step father, Joseph Whittington; brothers, Charlie Mclawchlin and Richard Mclawchlin, Hardlee Whittington and Frank Dow Whittington; and husbands, Paul Parsley and John Boudreaux. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Betty Whittington of Hitchcock; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, especially one dear and true friend, Kathy Nebout of Hitchcock
