Helen H. McDaniel Murphy, 81, of Winnfield, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. She was born March 24, 1936 to the union of her parents, John Clark McDaniel and Johnnie Bridges McDaniel. Mrs. Murphy loved her Council on Aging group, playing bingo and pokeno. She also enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 24, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Larry Chapman officiating. Interment followed in the Welcome Home Cemetery, east of Grayson, under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Woodrow “Jap” McDaniel and Nathan McDaniel; and sister, Arlene McDaniel. Survivors include one sister, Merlene Mayfield of Bossier; and a host of nieces and nephews
