George “Buddy” Robert Henry, 92, of Jena, passed from this life on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena. He was born February 1, 1926 in Bastrop to the union of his parents, Garland Cliff and Murel Cassterberry Henry. Buddy was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He worked for 70 years as a paint and body man, rebuilding cars. He was employed by Babin Motors in Jonesville. Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, at East Jena Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnnie Phillips and Bobby MaGee officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery, east of Jena, under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dottie Sue Warwick; and grandson, Bruce Lane Henry. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ruby Henry of Jena; sons, Larry Henry and wife Janice of Monterey, Clifton Henry, and Bruce Henry, both of Jena; five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Clif Henry, Ryan McCann, Steven Mac Henry, Robert Pritchard, Ryan McCann, Shannon Bailey and Thomas Parker. Honorary Pallbearers were Jordan Pritchard and Ian Williams.
