Carl Joseph Weatherford, 65, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Olla on Saturday, January 10, 1953, to the union of Evaleana McKeithen Weatherford and Joseph William Weatherford. Carl attended LaSalle High School in Olla, and after moving to Mississippi, he attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier, MS. Carl worked in the gaming industry at casinos in both Louisiana and Mississippi, eventually retiring from Boomtown Casino as a surveillance shift boss. He also owned and operated several automotive businesses along the coast. From a young age, Carl was a car enthusiast and loved restoring cars and building custom motorcycles. In later years, he developed a love for golf and became an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, and one nephew, Jimmy Dewayne Tullos of Olla. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 32 years, Lynn Clay Weatherford of Ocean Springs; two sons, Christopher Robbins (Teffany) of Lake Charles, and Ryan Taylor of Sallisaw, OK; one daughter, Michelle Catchot of Ocean Springs; his mother, Evaleana Coleman of Jena; four sisters, Carolyn Coleman (Ricky) and Charlotte Barnes (Michael), all of Jena, Evelyn Tullos (Gerald) of Olla, and Maryetta Brutsch of New Orleans; five grandchildren, Parker and Logan Wickstrom of Ocean Springs, and Peyton Robbins, Morgan Miller and Creighton Duncan of Lake Charles; and his beloved cats, Bogie, Daisy, Max and Bob. A memorial service will be held at 12-noon, Saturday, March 3, at the Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg, MS, with Rev. Norman Bagby officiating.
