
Florance Monroe Wallace, 93, of Urania, passed from this life on Thursday, December 21, 2017, in Jena. He was born January 16, 1923 in Texas. Monroe served in the U. S. Navy and afterward worked at United Gas until his retirement. He loved fishing and woodworking and he was very good at doing both. He was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Tullos, Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 23,in the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with the Revs. Benny Hollingsworth and Scott Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery in Urania under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Wallace; and a daughter, Sharon Louise Wallace. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Dale Wallace and wife Suhan of Monroe; daughter, Sheryl Wallace Richardson and husband Steven of Urania; grandchildren, Christopher Wallace and wife Amanda of West Monroe, Craig Wallace of Monroe, Ryan Richardson of West Monroe and Sean Richardson and wife Sarah of Mandeville; great-grandchildren, Jessie, Caleb, Abigail and Keith Wallace and Jameson Ford Richardson. Pallbearers were Ryan Richardson, Sean Richardson, Christopher Wallace, Craig Wallace, Robert Lurry and Glen Henderson. The family requests memorials be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, P.
