Minnie Dell Boyd, 81, of Jena, passed from this life on Friday, October 27, 2017, at her residence.
She was born February 6, 1936 in Lillie, LA, to the union of her parents, Robert Patterson and Gertrude Nancy Slater Pate.
Mrs. Boyd was the site manager for the LaSalle Council on Aging.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 30, at East Jena Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnnie Phillips, Craig James, and Bobby McGee officiating.
Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blanchard Boyd; parents; brothers, Cecil Pate, Huey Pate, and George Pate; sisters, Gladys Farrar, Florell Wilks, and Marie Wilson; and great grandchild, Pacey Renea Tyson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Dudley Boyd and Donna Dunigan, and Joe Linder, all of Coffeeville, AL; daughters, Brenda Webb of Coffeeville, AL; Marlene Young and Troy Kantz of Saltville, VA; and Paula Boyd and Kenny McMillian of Jena, LA; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and best friend and fishing buddy, JoAnn Boyd.
Pallbearers were Joe Linder, Daffin Hodge, Dale Young, K. C. Richey, Bradley Humphries, and Jason Kittrell.
Honorary pallbearers were Danny Boyd, Mickey Boyd, Burl Clark, and David Conley, Jr.
