
Myra Maxine Girod, 90, of Rosefield, passed from this life on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
Maxine, who was lovingly known as “Aunt Mac” or “Granny”, was born January 31, 1927 in Grayson to the union of her parents, William Alfred and Fannie Sones Guyon.
She was a life-long member of Rosefield Baptist Church. She enjoyed living in the Rosefield community and loved the many friends and neighbors she had there. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 26, at Rosefield Baptist Church in Rosefield with Rev. Bubba Tucker officiating.
Interment followed in the Rosefield Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Girod; son, Jeff Girod; and great-granddaughter, Elyssa Reynolds.
Survivors include a son, Quincy Girod and wife Gay of Queen City, TX; a daughter, Carleen Dumas and husband Greg of Calhoun; brother, William A. Guyon, Jr; sisters, Marjorie Watson, Joy Tarver and Alice Ogden; grandchildren, Jamie Girod and wife Heather, Charly Darmstaedter and husband Jon, Severen Girod and wife Lacey, Tara Girod Rape and husband Randy, Jake Dumas, Hannah Thomas and husband Blaze and Anna Girod; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Jamie Girod, Severen Girod, Jake Dumas, Jon Darmstaedter, Blaze Thomas and Randy Rape.
