James Fount Price, Jr., 71, of Summerville, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
He was born July 8, 1945 in Oakdale to the union of his parents, James Fount Price, Sr. and Fern Cudd Price.
Fount was a lifelong cowboy and a rodeo producer for many years, as well as being employed in the oilfield for many years.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 18, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Bill Jackson and Todd Norris officiating.
Interment followed in the Taylor Chapel Cemetery in the Summerville Community under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katherine Sue Smith; and nephew, Lamar Fannin.
Those left to cherish his memory include Lottie Switzer; children, James Crooks and wife Becky, John Crooks and wife Jenny, Jeff Crooks and wife Cindy, Amanda Price and fiancé Lyle Parker and Wesley Switzer and wife Tammy; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Carolyn Rose Fannin and husband Lester and Mary Price.
Pallbearers were David Coon, James Crooks, Lance Greer, Lon Edwards, Joey Deville and Wesley Switzer.
Honorary pallbearers were John Crooks, Jeff Crooks, Todd Fannin, Chad Smith, James Gulde, John Greer, Junior Prudhomme, Dan Cornett, and Mike Baggett.
