Richard Wayne Husbands, 31, of Jena, passed from this life on Friday, July 19, at his residence in Jena. A native of Jena, he lived his entire life here. Richard was baptized at an early age in the Whitehall United Pentecostal Church. A loving father and husband, he was very generous, and was like a brother to all who knew him. Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 22, in the Whitehall United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Joey Paul and David Hutchinson officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery in the Magnolia Community under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Kayla Cooper Husbands; a son, Daylen James Husbands; his parents, Daryl and Kathy Breland Husbands; a sister, Amanda Kaye Husbands; and his maternal grandmother, Juanita Breland Butler, all of Jena. Pallbearers were Jesse Poole, Jaimie Smith, Regan Picou, Justin Breithaupt, Tracy Clark, Denny Pittman, Brandon Humphries, and Kevin Dean. Honorary pallbearers were Tate Tuegel, Darrell McDowell, Tyler Ivey, Terry Keene, and Robert Bordelon.
