Gloria Jean Lewis, 60, of Jena, passed from this life on Monday, September 19, 2016, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was born October 13, 1955 in Atmore, Alabama to the union of her parents, Charles and Maudie Tolin Porter. Gloria Jean was employed as a sales associate in retail until her retirement. She enjoyed being momma and grandmother, and loved being surrounded by her family. She was a Baptist by faith. Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Larry Chapman and Johnny Porter officiating. Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery in the Belah-Fellowship Community under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, William Lewis, Jr; sisters, Barbara Gauthier and Dorene Salter; brother, Robert Brooks; and friend, Billy Ray Honeycutt. Survivors include her daughter, Christy Murphy and husband Audy; grandson, Taylor Murphy, all of Pollock; sisters, Pauline Dunn and Ann Ainsworth, both of Jena, Darlene Bordelon of Lafayette, Christine Skipper of Perido, AL, Cherlene Ray of Ethelsville, AL, Rose Lishman of Kilmicheal, MS and Sherene Skipper of Bay Minette, AL; brothers, Ray Brooks of Bay Minette, AL and Ricky Brooks of Perdio, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Audy Murphy, Taylor Murphy, Eli Porter, Johnny Porter, Floyd Murphy, and Anthony Ortiz.
