Elvena “Perper” Book, 90, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Friday, September 9, 2016, at The Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville. She loved fishing, gardening, church and singing. She was also a very great momma. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11, at Good Road Pentecostal Church of Jonesville with the Revs. Chad Franklin, Bryan Taylor, and Joel Ford officiating. Interment followed in the Heard Cemetery of Manifest under direction of Magnolia Funeral Home of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Book; mother, Dora ”Girlie” Paul; father, Milton “Manny” Paul; brother, Ethelbert Paul; sister, Lois Adams; grandsons, Scottie Book, Logan Book and Jewel Book. Survivors include her daughter, Melinda E. Netherland and husband Ben; sons, Melton Jasper Book and wife Charlotte, Melvin Coy Book and wife Rhonda and Melton “Tuffy” Jasper Book, Jr.; host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Thiry Winborne and Patsy Carlton; and brother, Pervon Paul and wife Sheila. Pallbearers were Tyler Netherland, Grady Richey, Jacob Whatley, Melton “Tuffy” Book, Sydney Book and Luke Book.
