Lillian Noble Starnes, 88, of Columbia, and a native of Olla, passed from this life on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia Heights following an extended illness. She was born December 7, 1927 in Olla to the union of her parents, Robert Noble and Bobbie Lee Coates Noble. Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Brother Dean Love officiating. Interment followed in the Adams Cemetery at Kelly under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon B. Starnes; her brother, Delbert Noble; and her grandson, James McDowell. Survivors include four daughters, Evelyn Peppers of Olla, Helen Braddock and husband Lawrence of Grayson, Verna Bertrand and husband Preston of Olla, and Wanda Sweeney and husband Lawrence of Muskogee, OK; her sister, Potsy Allen of Pineville; her grandchildren, Angela Lyons, Jason Peppers, Ray Braddock, Stephen Braddock, Jeremy Richards, Jerry Richards, Jennifer Farmer, Chris Starnes, and Daniel McDowell; and twenty great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jason Peppers, Daniel McDowell, Jeremy Richards, Ray Braddock, Stephen Braddock and Jerry Richards. Honorary pallbearer was Chris Starnes.
