Phyllis Joy Cockerham Kirl, 68, of Summerville, was received into Heaven on Monday, March 28, 2016. She was born January 7, 1948 in Lander, Wyoming, to the union of Claude and Jessie Bea Thomas Cockerham. Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 31, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Russell officiating. Interment followed in the Taylor Chapel Cemetery at Summerville under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wallace Cockerham; and a sister–in-law, Wendy Cockerham. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, T. W. Kirl of Summerville; two daughters, Donna Lovasz and husband Julius of Jena and Renee Welch and husband Don of Ragley; four sons, Toby Kirl and wife Angel of New Iberia, Tommy Kirl of Trout, Tim Kirl and wife Carletta of Summerville, and Terry Kirl and wife Laurie of Ragley; three brothers Phillip Cockerham of Summerville, Tom Cockerham and wife Sharon of Summerville, and Billy Jack Cockerham and wife Linda of Arlington, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Cockerham of Lander, Wyoming. Pallbearers were M. J. Brown, Ryan Lovasz, Danny Reeves, Dillion Kirl, Shawn Kirl, and Allen Austin “Mater”. Honorary pallbearers are Toby Kirl, Don Welch, Lane Miles, Cameron Kirl, Christian Kirl, and the deacons of Trinity Baptist Church.
