Clarence Guin

Clarence Guin, 86, of Lena, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Riverside Hospital in Alexandria. He was born January 17, 1929 to the union of his parents, Mallie and Abby Guin. Mr. Guin was a native of Lena, and was a sawmill worker for many years of his life. He was a member of the Bentley United Pentecostal Church. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed by his family and by all those who knew him. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Bentley United Pentecostal Church in Bentley, with the Revs. Bruce Maxwell and E.R. Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Bay Springs Cemetery at Chopin, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home of Pineville. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Clarence Wayne Guin; his brothers, Mallie Guin, Link Guin, and Clinton Guin; and one sister, Omie Pace. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Mary E. Guin of Lena; his two sons, Shelton R. Guin and wife Elizabeth of Bentley, and Joel Maurice Guin of Urania; his daughter, Rita Nell Shelton and husband William of Georgetown; his brother, Dewitt Guin of Tullos; his sister, Romie Dyess and husband Jim of Cotile Lake; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
