Mary Ellen Taylor Cooper, 89, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 12, 1923 in LaSalle Parish to the union of her parents, Roy Robert and Martha Jane Taylor. Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker and a member of Good Road Pentecostal Church. Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 20, at Good Road Pentecostal Church of Jonesville with the Revs. Bryan Taylor and Chad Franklin officiating. Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Jonesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion Ellis Cooper; a sister, Martha Estelle Taylor; a brother, Shelby Roy Taylor; grandson, Jerry Glen Book, Jr; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Cooper. Survivors include four sons, Glen Cooper and wife Glenda, and Kenneth Cooper and wife Dimple, all of Jonesville, Lavonne Cooper and wife Maxine of Crowley, and Wayne Cooper of Gordo, AL; one daughter, Estelle Wrocklage and husband Pete of Jonesville; three brothers, Bryan Taylor and wife Myrna, and Ernest Taylor and wife Loretta, all of Jonesville, and Robert Taylor and wife Marie of Jena; ten grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were grandsons – Lee Book, Brandon Cooper, Craig Cooper, Chad Cooper, Eric Cooper, Darron Cooper, and Lance Cooper.
