
Bobby Joe Brazzell, 73, of Olla, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was born November 5, 1941 in Winnfield to the union of his parents, Floyd M. and Leora Gorham Brazzell. Bobby Joe retired from teaching in the Terrebonne and Winn Parishes school systems after 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, having enjoyed fishing and deer and quail hunting with his birddogs. There was no greater man as a grandfather. He truly and deeply loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Winnfield with Rev. Ed Smith officiating, and Brother Randy Douglas delivering the eulogy. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Gloria Brazzell; daughters, Kim Stott and husband John, and Angie Palmer and husband John, all of Olla; brother, Jimmy Brazzell and wife Karen, and sister, Janice Hand and husband C. H., all of Winnfield; grandchildren, Eric Stott and wife Patty, Sheena Stott, Michael Kirkham, Shane Stott, and Charlene Stott; and great grandchildren, Gabriel Stott, Dominic Stott, Evan Armstrong, and Brennan Armstrong. Justin Brazzell, Trey Hand, Henry Ross, and Joey Guess. Honorary pallbearers were Melvin Williams and Buster Finley.
