Mary A. McKnight, 95, of Pineville, passed from this life on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the Woods Haven Nursing Home in Pollock. She was a member of Alpine Baptist Church for over 50 years, and was a volunteer for 35 years at the Ball Senior Center. Mrs. McKnight loved to sew and use her hands to make quilts. During her working career, she was a Home Manager/Supervisor at Pinecrest State School. Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville with the Revs. Charles Hutzler and Lucas LaCour officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Pineville, under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Pineville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar McKnight, Sr.; sons, Buck McKnight and Robert McKnight; parents, Walter W. and Ada V. Doughty Hanes; brother, George Hanes; and sister, Leslie Mae Pritchard. Survivors include three sons, Pete McKnight and wife Patsy Nell, David McKnight and wife Nita, and Clyde “Hammer” McKnight and wife Karen; two sisters, Annie Faye Freeman and Etta Walterine Bradford; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Troy McKnight, James McKnight, Herbert McKnight, Jr., Kenny McKnight, John Juderman and Gary Lemmons. Honorary pallbearers will be SSgt Jeremy McKnight,Dustin McKnight, Zack Lofton, Garland Lemmons, Frank Lofton, Bill Smith, and Bubba  Clubb.
