Peggy Sue Boyett Vickers

Peggy Sue Boyett Vickers, 48, of Olla, passed from this life on Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Christus Highland Medical Center in Shreveport following a brief illness. She was born August 2, 1965 in Urania to the union of her parents, Quincy and Elvira Boyett. Peggy Sue was a teacher and was truly called into her  profession. She taught children with autism and gave of herself, giving love, devotion and understanding to each and every one of her students. Peggy was a unique lady, she gave continually of herself to all those around her. Her family and her students were the light of her life. She was employed with the LaSalle Parish School System and was a faithful and devoted member of Zion Hill Baptist Church near Olla. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, from the sanctuary of Zion Hill Baptist Church near Olla with the Revs. Denver McBroom and LaVurle Shell officiating. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mama and papa, Dennis and Euna Lee Boyett; her sister, Jeanette Carol Boyett; her brother, Billy Boyett; and her first nephew, Johnny Wayne Dilley. Survivors include her husband, Steve Vickers of Olla; two sons, Ryne Vickers and girlfriend Amber Bruce, and Timmy Vickers and girlfriend Victoria Maxwell, all of Olla; her brothers, Denny Boyett of Olla, Bubby Boyett and Bingo Boyett, both of Tullos; her sisters, Mary “Dytsie” Rushing of Winnsboro and Diane Dilley of Columbia; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and one great great niece and one great great nephew. Pallbearers were Kevin Andrews, Owen Gauthier, Justin Carter, Eric Carter, Wesley Boyett, Ethan Ainsworth, Ray Smith, and Caleb Callendar
