
Ed Rutledge, 76, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria.
He was born June 10, 1944 to the union of Nash and Louella Rutledge.
Ed was a deacon, charter member and of the board of directors at Jonesville Church of God. He was a devoted husband, Dad and Poppa. He loved his church, church family and the Lord, but most of all he treasured his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved spending time at his camp with his family and loved hunting and fishing.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Jonesville with Brothers Tim Crooks and Junior Trisler officiating.
Interment followed under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gracie Carroll, Marion Rutledge, Charles Rutledge and L.W. Rutledge; and father-in-law, Clifton Harris.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Peggy Rutledge; children, Kevin Rutledge and wife Stacey and Rhonda Williams and husband Bubba; grandchildren, Amy Cooksey and husband Clint, Landon Williams and wife Candy, Hanna Lossin and husband Jacques, Cade Williams and wife Logan, Haley Hill and husband Dustin, Riley Williams, Jake Rutledge and Tate Williams; great grandchildren, Maggie, Ava and River Lossin, Ainslee, Cash, Colby and John Crew Cooksey, Kylon, Cason and Clate Hill, Chloe, Sayde and Beaux and Hayes Williams; sisters, Molly Kerns Nichols and Lena Mae Finn; sisters-n-law, LaRaedo Rutledge, Cloteal Rutledge and Caralyn Rutledge; mother-in-law, Badglee Harris; Andy Shulla; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bruce Rutledge, Robert Kern, Bubba Carroll, Wayne Rutledge, Eli Rutledge and Stevie Crooks.
Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Richardson, Glenn McNeely, Wolf Trisler, Freddy Cook, Brad Crooks, Purvon Paul and Richard Wilson.
