Earl Reeves, 86, of Belah, passed from this life on Monday, December 30, 2013, at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. He was born May 31, 1927 in Jena to the union of his parents, Tom Earl and Mattie Roark Reeves.
Mr. Reeves was a retired lineman for Concordia Electric Cooperative and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Belah. Services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 1, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Rick Feazell officiating. Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Robert Garrett; and two great
grandchildren, Little Tom Reeves and Stephen Wilbanks. Survivors include his wife, Christine Reeves of Belah; one son, Tommy Reeves and wife Lisa of Belah; one daughter, Patricia Wilbanks and husband Gregg of Columbia; three grandchildren, Clint Reeves and wife Heather, Kristin Reeves and Jennifer Anderson and husband Garrett; and eight great grandchildren, Caisen, Clara, Brayton, Keirsten, Alli, Maddie, Katie, and Sawyer.
Pallbearers were Don Valentine, Darryl Valentine, Ken Evans, Richard Mitchell, Mickey Cockerham, and Donnie Valentine. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Fellowship Baptist Church.
