John Rodney Nugent, 80, of Georgetown, passed from this life on Thursday, May 7, 2020.
He was born February 18, 1940 in Clarks, to the union of his parents, Homer Nugent and Ethel Mae Douglas Nugent.
Private graveside services were held Monday, May 11, at Lincecum Cemetery in Georgetown with Rev. Austin Bradford officiating.
Interment followed under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nyoka Nugent; parents; brothers, Isaac Leon Nugent, Lyndell Nugent, Homer Nugent, Rubin Nugent and Aubrey Otis Nugent; and sister, Eva Olean Grice.
Those left to cherish in his memory include his sons, John Matthew Nugent (Nancy), Carlos Gregory Nugent (Sherri), and Joseph Jason Nugent, all of Georgetown, and Rodney Heath Nugent (Susan) of Pollock; daughters, Nyoka Malette Kendrick (Jeff), Cassie Smith (Tom), and Julie LaJurn Wade (Jeff), all of Georgetown; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dock Kendrick, Kyle Nugent, Keaton Nugent, Josh Kendrick, Tyler Nugent, Rodney ‘Bubba” Wade, Treavor Curtis, Wyatt Nugent, Devin Kendrick, and Dalton Kutej.
